Course Overview

The CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training is an 8-hour course equipping staff with strategies to safely de-escalate and respond to difficult behaviors in schools and other settings. Modules are completed online and physical components are completed in-person. This dynamic training provides verbally and physically nonviolent methods to prevent or manage crisis situations with dignity, safety, and the goal of finding the best possible outcomes. Participants develop expertise in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and intervention techniques such as nonverbal and verbal communication, understanding aggression, and use of personal space.
