Course Overview

Language Development: The Effects of Prompting & Questioning Techniques is a one and half-hour training for early childhood educators on strengthening communication skills in young children. Offered both in-person and online, this interactive course covers how to use strategic prompting, open-ended questions, repetition, and expansion to boost vocabulary, comprehension, and verbal expression. Educators will learn prompting methods to scaffold conversations and model advanced language. Questioning techniques will be demonstrated to stimulate critical thinking and engage children in meaningful dialogue. Participants will gain hands-on tools to intentionally further language development during the critical early years. This practical training provides educators with impactful techniques to enhance children’s communication abilities through prompting and intentional questioning.
