Director Training

Course Overview

The Texas Childcare Quality Assessment Series Director Training is a 6-hour training that helps prepare centers for the Texas Rising Star assessment process. This training is offered in-person and virtual via a live Zoom session by a former TRS Mentor & Assessor. This is an independent training program not affiliated with the Texas Workforce Commission. This training is offered in-person and virtual via a live Zoom session. Training is provided by Mrs. Ashley, former TRS Mentor and Assessor. This training will help you understand the different Star Ratings of the TRS Program and the requirements for earning and maintaining a 4-Star Rating. This workshop includes templates and guidelines and will take directors step-by-step through the TRS Scoring Guide in the following categories:

  • Category 1: Director & Staff Qualifications
  • Category 2: Teacher-Child Interactions
  • Category 3: Center Policies and Procedures
  • Category 4: Indoor & Outdoor Environment

This training will include hands-on activities, scenarios, role play, small group activities, demonstrations, collecting and interpreting observation data of staff, and discussions.

The Texas Childcare Quality Assessment Series Staff Training is a 3-hour training that prepares teachers for the Texas Rising Star Assessment as well as introduces research-based practices in early childhood education to enable teachers to give young children quality learning experiences. This training is offered in-person and virtual via a live Zoom session. Training is provided by Mrs. Ashley, former TRS Mentor and Assessor. This is an independent training program not affiliated with the Texas Workforce Commission. This workshop will take teachers step-by-step through the TRS Scoring Guide in the following categories:

  • Category 2: Teacher-Child Interactions
  • Category 4: Indoor & Outdoor Environment
